Registration, Meals, and Accommodations
All amounts are given in Canadian dollars (CAD)
[Registration Closed 17 July 2014: 50 registered participants.]
Registration Fees
The registration fee for workshop participants is $200/person.
On-Campus (university residence-hall) Accommodations
$66/person/night (single occupancy) or $52/person/night (double occupancy). This includes the cost of wireless internet access. The optional daily linen-change service is an additional $24/night.
Local-Hotel Accommodations
Local hotels are also available to those who prefer greater comfort (download a list). Some are within walking distance of the meeting, while others are not. Hotel accommodations must be arranged separately by the individual.
Breakfasts
A catered breakfast can be prepaid on the registration form at a cost of $8/person/day. This is the best option for those staying in on-campus accommodations. Participants with special dietary restrictions should indicate their needs on the registration form. There is also a breakfast restaurant close to campus. Participants who choose to stay in local hotels are also permitted to sign up for the catered-breakfast option, but many local hotels already serve a free breakfast.
Lunches
Daily boxed lunches during the meeting are included in the registration fees. Participants with special dietary restrictions should indicate their needs on the registration form.
Dinners
Two group dinners (Aug 14 and Aug 15) will be held at relatively inexpensive restaurants on or near the McMaster University campus (within walking distance), which are not included in the registration fees. There are many nice restaurants (download a list) in Hamilton that you may want to try.
Parking
Parking at the residence halls or in other designated areas on campus is fairly expensive. If paid in advance using the registration form, the rate is $12/car/day on Monday-Friday and $6/car/day on Saturday-Sunday. If paid at the time of arrival, the cost is $20/car/day. Note that the local transit system is quite accessible for those without cars.
Guests
Guests who accompany participants should submit a separate registration form in order to stay in on-campus accommodations, but they should not pay the $200 registration fee if they do not attend the workshop. Both registration forms (guest and participant) can be processed with a single payment.
Payment
Payment must be handled via credit-card or cheque, and should be submitted to Debra Farquhar at BIMR. Note that credit card information can be submitted via fax or snail mail, but not email. Enroute to the meeting, international visitors should obtain enough cash to cover any expenses that are not pre-paid.
Registration Form (download)
All registrants will receive detailed instructions via email about one week prior to the meeting. This will include parking instructions, check-in procedures for on-campus accommodations (either daytime or after-hours arrival), and maps showing the exact locations of the workshop, meals areas and on-campus accommodations.
